How about this for a game 1?

Andre Burakovsky gave the Colorado Avalanche a 1-0 advantage in Wednesday night’s Stanley Cup Final, scoring the game-winning goal a minute and 23 seconds into overtime to give the Avs a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Unsurprisingly, his huge goal was talked about on Twitter after the game:

Burakovsky received his flowers, and deservedly so, but it was a wild game that took place in three acts.

Act One: The Avs jumped to 2-0 and 3-1 behind goals from Gabriel Landeskog, Valeri Nichushkin and Artturi Lehkonen.

Act 2: The Lightning, showing the confidence of a two-time defending champion, fired even behind the goals of Ondrej Palat and Mikhail Sergachev a minute apart.

Act Three: Both teams, after explosive opening periods, played to a third-period stalemate before Burakovsky called the game into overtime.

We’ve got all the early elements of an epic series here, folks.

The Lightning will look to bounce back at Colorado in Game 2 on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN).
