Rockstar has updated fans on the status of Grand Theft Auto VIdevelopment while announcing that red death On line will stop receiving major content updates.
The game’s developer explained in a blog post, “Over the past few years, we’ve gradually shifted more development resources to the game’s next entry. Grand Theft Auto series – understanding more than ever the need to exceed player expectations and make this next entry the best it can be.”
Obviously, this has a cost, and this cost is the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Fans had previously complained that the online connection was less red death and more Dead and had actually planned an in-game funeral for the service on July 13, a year to the day since the last substantial piece of new content.
Perhaps in response to fans contemplating red dead online finished, Rockstar has officially confirmed that it is.
“Along with seasonal special events and experience improvements – as well as other changes to improve and maintain a healthy environment red dead online environment – we plan to build on existing modes and add new telegram missions this year, rather than providing major themed content updates like in previous years,” the blog continued.
“We will continue to showcase and share the creative efforts of our red death community at every opportunity via the Newswire and beyond.”
Thus, the online site is not closed, but the only support it will get will be bug fixes, small events and promotions. No conclusion of certain scenarios, no requested features like online lobbies or a creator mode, or a commitment to stop rampant cheating on the PC version. Suffice it to say, in-game funerals are still happening.
