Traffic delays to and from Orlando Airport occur for many reasons. We are sad to report that this morning travelers can expect significant delays due to a tragic accident.
Reasons for delays
Recently, it seems that airlines have increasingly Flight delays. Sometimes it seems like they are scrambling to accommodate flight requests. Then there is weather delays due to storms. Once I (Susan) was delayed for 6 hours due to Orlando International Airport flooding!
Another reason for travel delays is the heavy traffic all around Disney World. Although delays do happen, they can be frustrating when you’re eager to get to the theme parks or anxious to catch your flight home. According to the Orlando Police Twitter account, major traffic delays are expected this morning so plan accordingly.
Why the delay?
By Orlando Police, officers investigate double fatal crash on Jeff Fuqua Boulevard and Semoran Boulevard. This is a route used to travel to and from Orlando International Airport. For this reason, travelers can expect significant traffic delays.
Orlando police are investigating a fatal double car accident.
We don’t have full details of the crash, but Orlando police are reporting some lanes are open, but traffic delays continue. When there is a fatal accident, the police must investigate what caused this tragedy.
Planning
If you are flying into Orlando International Airport today, please depart earlier than usual and/or take an alternate route if possible. If you arrive, make the necessary changes to the plans today. Disney is very accommodating on the day of restaurant reservations for delays. Just give them a call. And stay safe on the go.
