The first images of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps have been leaked after they were included in the closed alpha version of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, which was released in select test regions under NDA in May.
Warzone Mobile, also known as Project Aurora, is in closed alpha testing, but as users become familiar with the different versions on iOS and Android, they’ve found a batch of Modern Warfare 2, and even Call of Duty 2024 from Treyarch, contained in the files.
The images in the files are of each map’s loading screen image. Activision sends DMCA and copyright notices on these images, so will not host the images on the site. The Warzone Mobile closed alpha was under a signed NDA, with no gameplay or imagery allowed to be shared from it.
The leaker on Twitter claims to have access to plenty of loading screens for Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps and has posted a few 6v6 map images, as well as Ground War map images.
Leaked Modern Warfare 2 maps
The first card displayed is listed as ‘Grand Prize‘, which was revealed in June as part of the game’s reveal. The map, as we mentioned, is set in Asia.
The second leaked map is called Oilfield in the Warzone Mobile folder. It appears to take place in a desert landscape area.
The third card the user posted is called Museum. This card has the most colors, from the images shown, and supports a variety of playstyles.
The fourth card was only mentioned by its code name, SABA. Information about this map beyond its images is not known at this time.
Modern Warfare 2 Ground War Map Images
The leaker also shared images of 2 MP Modern Warfare 2 Ground War maps.
The first is called Hydroelectricity, which takes place in the desert with water running through the central area. As confirmed by Infinity Ward, the engines of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 support swimming, which means maps will feature areas of water.

The second leaked Ground War map is called ‘Fishtown.’
The third ground war map is called Sira.
Modern Warfare 2 MP Map Codenames
Additionally, the leaker has also shared a list of codenames for all MP maps currently in the Modern Warfare 2 MP files.
Some of the maps remain codes for Modern Warfare 2019, while the others are codenames or ship names for the MP mode of the 2022 game.
Activision hasn’t explained why the Warzone Mobile files contain all of these Modern Warfare 2 footage. The company will send DMCA notices to anyone who posts any leaks on the internet.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 MP has yet to be officially revealed before some details on what’s included. The timeline of the deputy’s revelation is not yet known. Activision has confirmed that there will be an open beta before the game launches.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will officially launch on October 28 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC (Battle.net and Steam).
