The royal family is back at the races! Although Queen Elizabeth was unable to attend the first day of Royal Ascot, that did not deter many family members from attending England’s most beloved horse racing event. To represent Her Majesty, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who were among the first members of the Royal Family to arrive on the Ascot runway.
For Tuesday’s glam occasion, the elegant royal looked stunning in a white and pink floral dress by Zimmermann paired with a straw belt. She paired her summery ensemble with pink pumps and a straw clutch with her initials “BY” for Beatrice of York. In true Royal Ascot fashion, the Beatrice styled her hair with an exaggerated sparkly headband with a pink bow and allover flowers by Juliette Botterill Millinery. Her hubby, for his part, looked dapper in a three-piece suit and black top hat.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall were also present on opening day, where they led the royal motorcade around the track with Charles’ nephew, Peter Phillips. His mother, Princess Anne, got into another car. Other royals in attendance included Zara Tindall and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, who also dressed to impress. Additionally, Kate Middleton’s parents, Carole and Michael, were spotted at the annual equestrian event.
Although the Queen was not in attendance on Tuesday, she issued a statement about her “delight” to welcome crowds to the first Royal Ascot with full attendance since 2019. “I have been so grateful for the continued kindness that m has been by the racing community,” she continued, adding, “I hope you all have an enjoyable and memorable time, and I wish the horse connections who are racing this week well. “
