Splatoon 3 was announced last year during February’s Nintendo Direct, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel’s release ever since.
It’s the third game in the Splatoon series, following the release of the original Splatoon on Wii U and the Switch sequel which launched in 2017, so people have been waiting for the game for quite a while.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may have created new fans for this strange and colorful world, but what do we know about the Splatoon 3 release date, game content, and OLED Splatoon 3 Special Edition?
Splatoon 3: Release date
Amazingly, Splatoon 3 is actually coming very soon.
It will be released on September 9, 2022, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
The game is developed in-house by Nintendo themselves.

Splatoon 3: Special OLED Edition
Nintendo recently announced a special edition for Splatoon 3 in the form of the Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch OLED.
Although it releases before Splatoon 3 itself (August 26) and won’t come with the game, it will come with custom designs for the console itself.
He will come with a set of joy-cons, one blue and one yellow with white underbelly.
The console dock is adorned with Splatoon character designs and a huge yellow splat in the lower left corner.
Will Off The Hook be in Splatoon 3?
Off The Hook will be in Splatoon 3! Off The Hook is an in-universe pop band that first appeared in Splatoon 2. The songs they perform are used as in-game music, with tracks such as Chip Damage being examples. .
Band members include Pearl and Marina, and Nintendo UK tweeted out a preview of a new track in the game.
So far we know of of them different tracks from the game that they will perform, but there will more than likely be more tracks in the final game itself.
Splatoon 3 Amiibo
So we currently don’t know if Splatoon 3 is getting a set of Amiibo, but it’s highly likely given the series’ track record with them.
We’re still waiting for more Super Smash Bros Ultimate Amiibo to release, like Sephiroth, but it’s not hard to imagine that Splatoon 3 Amiibo is high on Nintendo’s list of creations.

Splatoon 2 saw the release of several Amiibo such as Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, Inkling Squid, Off The Hook, Octoling Girl, Octoling Boy, and Octoling Octobus.
Some of these were released alongside Splatoon 2, but it’s possible the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed these figures to be released alongside Splatoon 3.
