Eased Covid restrictions and pristine beaches are among the many reasons travelers choose the Emirates for their holidays
The United Arab Emirates is seeing an influx of inbound arrivals, the country’s top travel agents have said. Dozens of tourists from Central Asian and East African countries flock to the United Arab Emirates to enjoy sunny weather, pristine beaches, world-class architecture and shopping and catering in the Emirates.
According to an April 2022 survey by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), the emirate welcomed nearly four million international overnight visitors between January and March 2022, compared to 1.27 million visitors for the corresponding period last year, which is a whopping 214 percent. Annual growth in visits.
Libin Varghese, Sales and Marketing Manager, ROOH Tourism LLC, said that they received a large number of guests from European and African countries due to the easy access and climatic conditions. “One of the main reasons tourists flock to Dubai is the weather, which Europeans love. With its hundreds of activities, tourists find Dubai to be the best option for traveling during the summer holidays,” said said Varghese.
He further explained that since travel to China is restricted, airlines in the country are using planes for different sectors, responding to the rush to arrive. This has also influenced the ticket prices for Dubai, which are relatively cheaper than some African and European countries.
This is the first summer where travel has been relatively stress-free, as many Covid-19-induced restrictions, such as pre-travel testing, have been eased. The removal of rapid PCR/PCR tests has brought sighs of relief from travelers to the UAE.
Travel companies point to ease of travel, relaxed Covid restrictions and pristine beaches as other reasons tourists choose the UAE for their summer holidays.
“Thanks to the UAE government’s swift action to deal with the virus and the gradual resumption of business and tourism activities, travelers are drawn in to have a memorable time here,” says Thomas Liju, Sales Manager, Tours On Board Pvt LTD.
He added that they had received several inquiries from incoming tourists. “We have received many guests and receive hundreds of inquiries daily as Dubai is the preferred summer travel destination for countries in Central Asia, Africa and Europe.

“Flight tickets from African countries range from 900 Dh to 1100 Dh and from European countries the ticket costs 2,200 Dh depending on the departure airport, which is cheap compared to other destinations”, Liju added.
Travel agents also received many Israeli tourists in the UAE after the borders opened.
