Jake Paul has called off his boxing match with Tommy Fury after claiming Tyson Fury’s half-brother “wasn’t interested and literally went into hiding”.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer was due to face Fury on August 6 at Madison Square Garden, but doubts over their fight began to arise when the Briton was banned from traveling to America for their press conference.
Paul has since taken to Twitter to announce that he and his team had sent Fury a dismissal notice after he did “everything they could” to set up the fight.

Paul took to Twitter to say: ‘Fury has received notice of termination. MVP [Most Valuable Promotions] did everything he could 2 to help him and his team. He wasn’t interested and he literally hid.
‘2nd time in a row that he has retired. 2nd time in a row, I’m going to step up and face a new opponent on short notice. August 6. MSG.’
The pair were supposed to settle their feud in December at Amalie Arena in Florida, but Fury had to pull out with a broken rib and a chest infection.
As a result, their fight was rescheduled for August 6 at Madison Square Garden. However, Fury faced a stumbling block trying to enter America.
Fury was scheduled to fly to the United States for a press conference to promote their fight, but was denied entry.

Fury filmed a video explaining why he was unable to fly to the United States to promote the fight last month.
He said: ‘[I wanted to] come here and set the record straight before someone else tries to.
“My team and I arrived at Heathrow Airport this morning ready for the press conference, ready to take off.
“And as soon as I walked into the airport I was pulled to one side and the Homeland Security agent who was there told me my ESTA had been denied and I couldn’t traveling to the United States for some reason that I apparently know about.
“I can stay here and say I did absolutely nothing wrong and I have no idea why I’m not allowed to travel to the United States.”
“I’ve been training for one fight all this time and that’s all I’ve done. I have no idea why they won’t allow me to travel today, and neither do any of my staff or my lawyers.
“So now I have to go to embassies and all that stuff and try to work it out and I’m in training guys I don’t know why this happened today – it’s a huge shock for me and my whole team.
However, Fury was denied entry to America ahead of their press conference last month.
Paul gave fans an update on the situation regarding Fury – claiming his opponent was in hiding
“Obviously it’s a matter that needs to be resolved, it’s government issues, it’s a lot bigger than the fight right now and I’m trying to sort it out, but I just wanted to let you know where it’s at. was.”
In response to the setback in their efforts to face each other, Paul angrily tweeted: ‘Tommy no matter how hard you try to get out of this fight I’m going to do everything in my power not to let you slip away . out.
“My team and my partners have clearly outlined the steps to resolve your latest excuse. Take them or admit you’re a scared little b****.
Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions also confirmed in a statement that the press conference had to be postponed due to the Fury situation.
The statement read: “Despite numerous assurances from Tommy Fury’s team that he was able to come to the United States, and knowing that Tommy was in California last month, we were surprised to learn that he had a problem at Heathrow Airport on Monday.
“Due to circumstances beyond our control, the press conference scheduled for Wednesday at MSG has been postponed.
“We are working with our partners at SHOWTIME and Madison Square Garden and will share more information as soon as we can.”
Paul gave Fury a deadline to work out his travel issues before calling off the fight
Paul took to Twitter again on June 30 to update fans on the situation – claiming Fury was “in hiding”.
He said: ‘Tommy Fury is hiding. B***h done. Tyson Fury’s attorney never responded to my team about setting up an escrow for our $1 million bet. “I never believed in his brother. I asked my team to do a Hova (Jay-Z) and move on to the next one.
He shared an accompanying video in which he was heard saying: ‘We’ve spoken to Tommy Fury’s lawyers, they’re all advising him to just go to the embassy to get his visa.
That’s all he has to do. But Tommy shows no urgency, he hasn’t left yet, he doesn’t communicate with us about what he’s doing.
“This is another case of Tommy Fumbles just being scared to fight me. I think that’s it. I think the Fury family is trying to manipulate something into getting me to fight in the UK.
“You want me to fight in the UK? Show me $15 million. Because, here in America, we’re getting more PPV buys, more ticket sales, and more referrals.
Fury has yet to respond to the advisory, but Paul is already gearing up for a fight against heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr (pictured together above)
“I showed you the money, we are ready to go. MSG, August 6. Tommy, are you going to miss the biggest payday of your life because you want me to go to the UK?
‘I’ll come over there, just show me the money but you can’t do that. It’s embarassing. Go to the embassy, get your visa, stop dodging me and stop wasting my time.
Paul then gave Fury a deadline – saying the fight would be called off if he didn’t make it to the US Embassy by Wednesday morning.
He tweeted, “Tommy is officially out Wednesday morning if he doesn’t go to the embassy/come out of hiding,” Paul tweeted. Three other opponents lined up. I am built differently.
With Wednesday’s deadline having passed, Paul again took to social media to announce that he had sent Fury a “termination notice”.
Fury has yet to respond to the advisory, but Paul is already planning a fight against heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr.
While Rahman Jr didn’t fight many big names while building a 12-1 record, his father knocked out Lennox Lewis to win the world heavyweight championship in 2001 in one of the biggest upsets the sport has known for years.
